Dahlia tuber FAQ
East of Eden Flower Farm — Dahlia Tuber Policies
TUBER QUALITY
All dahlias listed for sale on our website are sold as individual tubers. Each tuber is guaranteed to be high quality, true to variety, and to show at least one visible eye at the time of shipping.
Please note that dahlia tubers naturally vary in shape and size depending on the variety. Even small tubers can grow into healthy, productive plants as long as they have a viable eye.
RETURNS & REPLACEMENTS
East of Eden is not responsible for replacing tubers that fail to thrive due to growing conditions, pests, weather, crop loss, or other environmental factors that occur after receipt.
If a tuber fails to sprout within one month of planting, and the cause is unrelated to the factors listed above, please contact us. We will replace it with the same variety when available, or with the closest match in color and form if that variety is no longer in stock.
Refunds and replacements are limited to the purchase price of the tuber only. Shipping costs are non-refundable.
SHIPPING
All tubers are shipped via USPS Priority Mail once the danger of frost has passed, typically in the first half of April. Exact shipping timing depends on seasonal weather conditions.
Shipping costs are calculated automatically at checkout based on the total number of tubers ordered.
Receiving & Storage
Tubers arrive packed in bags filled with pine shavings, a medium that helps prevent drying during transit. Keep tubers in their bags until you are ready to plant, and store them in a location that remains above freezing.
If desired, in mid- to late April you may move tubers into a space above 60°F to encourage eyes to swell. This optional pre-sprouting can help plants establish more quickly and may result in earlier blooms.
